Once you have been requested to talk at a wedding, regardless of whether you're the best man, bridesmaid, the brides father or a close friend or family member, you'll need to have the basics on writing a perfect wedding speech. There are some good tips and principles to follow depending upon what your part is in the marriage or wedding party and we'll speak regading them here. First, and in all likelihood our most essential point is to remember if you are planning to speak, don't consume too much alcohol to the position where you may slur your speech or having trouble rising. This is just embarrassing and will take away attention from the bride, the groom, and the entire occasion.
A good thought, no matter what your position in the wedding, is to try to take time out to make notations and scheme out your speech. From this draft, you can compose your address or make notes on cards and taking your speech or index cards to the wedding reception is completely okay so don't feel like you must remember it. Just before you start your speech, introduce yourself by name and your position so everybody is aware of who you are. Stay with your outline or speech and try not to make it too lengthy or overcoming, preserving in mind that there are more than likely others who want to speak, so the quicker the better.
If you would like to add in a funny account in your speech, that is absolutely okay, but do not speak about a story that only you and the groom know about. Speak about broad funny tales about how the bride and groom met, amusing information of what their lives together will bring or why they are a remarkable couple. Genuine speeches that are tender will usually create a few tears, but that's ok too. Try to avoid insults even if you believe they are funny, they in all probability aren't, vulgar language, and never just stand upthere and speak about yourself. Your speech should lead up to, and finish with you raising your drinking glass to the bride and bridegroom so everyone can toast them.
If being requested to present a wedding speech makes you anxious or you have no idea to how to compose one, enlist the help of friends who can help you compose a good address and then rehearse it on them, and this will provide you a good idea what kind of reaction you will produce from your speech. If the reaction is fantastic then you've done a good job, but if it's not so special request some constructive critique on where you are going wrong.
If you are invited to provide an address and perhaps know the bridegroom, but not the bride that much very well, then her girl friends for assistance and use their thoughts about her to help you compose your speech. Keeping your speech brief, entertaining, honest, and remembering that the goal is to talk about and compliment the bride and groom will ensure you will deliver a perfect wedding speech
